Friendship-West Baptist Church is proud to announce the start of Digital Deliverance, the virtual theological reflection group that is a part of the STUDY Program. Digital Deliverance is an ongoing blog authored and maintained by FWBC theologians-in-residence Drs. Juan and Stacey Floyd-Thomas, and accompanied by various ministries at the church.
In keeping with FWBC's mission of "equipping changed people to change the world," the blog focuses on the role of Black Liberation Theology in contemporary American society and culture. In essence, it's digital delieverance from social crisis! It is our hope that this site will help people of all backgrounds find and utilize theological and spiritual resources that foster comfort, hope, clarity; strength, courage and joy.
Whether visitors to the blog are church members or curious seekers who are exploring how they can understand their faith in relation to current political events, trends in popular culture or better understanding African American Christianity alongside other spiritual traditions. Digital Deliverance provides readers with inspiring devotional tools, thought-provoking commentary and religious discourse, online access to nationally renowned theologians and religious scholars and the creation of a supportive online community.
